Tamil Nadu to take exams in schools for classes 1 to 9, classes to continue online

Students from class 1 to 9 studying in affiliated schools Tamil Nadu Board One has to go to schools to write the final exam. Students will have to appear in schools only for exams and not for regular classes. Due to the scorching heat in the state, the in-person classes have been suspended and will be conducted in online mode only.

The decision comes after teachers and parents demanded that students can go to schools only for exams as the heat is scorching otherwise their health will be affected. The education minister had said that the students of classes 1 to 9 will come to school on the day of the examination itself.

With regard to the reopening of schools in the state, School Education Minister, Ambil Mahesh has said that, “Due to the high impact of summer sun, the decision will be announced after considering early holidays for schools.”

The datesheet for the final exams for classes 1 to 9 has already been released. The School Education Department said in a statement, “The Tamil Nadu School Education Board has already published the timetable for conducting the year-end examinations for students of classes I to Nine in all types of schools.

As per the reports, only for the final examination from class 1 to 9 in the respective districts will be conducted on the days announced by the District Primary Education Officer and no classes will be conducted on other days.

meanwhile, Board exams for class 12 students have started from May 5 Whereas class 10th will be held on May 6. The examinations will continue till May 30. Class 11th exams will be held from May 10 to 31. The government had made masks mandatory for school students. Class 12 results will be released on 23 June and class 10 marksheets on 17 June.
