Task cut out for Indian paddlers at World Table Tennis Championships

Indian players will have to do more than make a mark at the World Table Tennis (Individual) Championships to be held here from November 23-29 in a arena filled with some of the best in the world.

Fan Zhandong, Tomakazu Harimoto, Hugo Calderano in men’s singles and Chen Meng, Sun Yingsha, Mima Ito in women’s singles will be the main attractions of the event.

Sharath Kamal (24) and G. Sathiyan (30) has been seeded in the men’s singles main draw.

Sharth will face Belgium’s Cedric Nuytink (ranked 73) while Sathiyan will face Ukraine’s Yaroslav Zhmudenko (140).

Manika Batra will face Bruna Takashi of Brazil in the women’s round of 128.
