Tata Motors to supply 921 low-floor electric buses to Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation: Details – Times of India

Tata Motors has disclosed that he had 921 . order has been received electric buses from Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). As per the contract, under tender by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), Tata Motors will be responsible for supply, operation and maintenance of these 12 meter electric buses for a period of 12 years.
Electric buses provided to BMTC are part of Tata Starbus EV range. In addition, the company has recently received orders for 1,500 e-buses from Delhi Transport Corporation and 1,180 e-buses from West Bengal Transport Corporation respectively in the last 30 days.
With this, the total order for electric buses of Tata Motors has gone up to 3,601 last month. Tata has also revealed that it has so far supplied over 715 electric buses to several cities in the country, which have covered a total distance of over 40 million kilometres.
Commenting on the announcement, Ms. G. Satyavati, IAS, Managing Director, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation said, “This order is paramount to Bengaluru’s growing need for clean, sustainable urban mass mobility. BMTC is happy to induct modern electric buses which will attract maximum ridership for eco-friendly public transport.
