It is louder and louder that Tata Motors will take the cover off its electric hatchback – the Tata Tiago EV – tomorrow. This will be the cheapest electric car from the domestic carmaker in the domestic market. Hence, the buzz around the Tata Tiago EV is high, and the carmaker is also releasing teaser videos and images which are making sure that the Tiago EV manages to grab the attention of the market ahead of its launch. In terms of design, the Tata Tiago EV will look similar to its ICE counterpart, but there will be some key differences. The teaser first reveals that the Tiago EV will get projector headlights on either side of the closed front grille. The grille will be finished in a glossy black shade with a tri-arrow design in teal blue tint. An “EV” symbol will also be seen around the left headlight. To keep costs down, the Tiago EV will have 14-inch steel wheels on the sides.

Teal blue accents will also be used inside the cabin in place of the chrome-finished trim piece. A tri-arrow design can also be used for the upholstery in teal blue color, to give an appeal to the EV from inside. The dual-tone theme will remain the same for interiors like the Tigor EV.
The Tiago EV will feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and other connected car technologies. Along with multi-mode regenerative braking, several passive safety systems will come as standard across the range.

Most likely, the drivetrain for the Tiago EV will be similar to that of the Tigor EV. The Tiago EV is most likely to come with a 55 kW motor and a 26 kWh battery pack. On a full charge, it can provide a range of around 300 kms. The Tiago EV will use a stacked drive mode selector knob on the center console.
Tata Tiago EV – Price
Prices of the Tata Tiago EV are likely to start from around Rs 9 lakh, ex-showroom. The top-spec trim should be priced between Rs 12 to 13 lakhs. It is interesting that it will not face any competition in the market at the time of launch.
