Tata Motors recently launched the much awaited Tiago EV 8.49 lakh in the Indian market. tago The EV was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 and was expected to hit the Indian roads by 2020. First, let’s compare the motor and battery pack options.
Tiago EV vs Tigor EV: Battery, Charging and Electric Motor.
The Tigor EV is available with a single battery pack option. The electric sedan is powered by a 26 kWh battery pack. The electric motor produces 74 bhp power and 170 Nm of torque and Tata claims that the electric sedan can sprint from 0-60 in just 5.7 seconds.

Now let’s talk about the Tiago EV, the Tiago EV has been introduced with two battery pack options 19.2 kWh one and 24 kWh.
The 25 kWh battery pack comes with a driving range of 315 km while the 19.2kWh battery offers a claimed range of 250 km.
The Tiago EV gets 74 hp power and 114 Nm peak torque. It also accelerates from 0-60 kmph in 5.7 seconds, just like the Tiago EV.
Talking about the charging capabilities of the Tiago EV, Tata claims that it is capable of charging 10-80 percent in 57 minutes while the Tigor EV can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in around 60 minutes.
Tiago EV vs Tigor EV: Interior and Features
The interior of the Tiago EV is identical to the ICE counterpart except for subtle changes. The interior of the Tiago gets a blue accent. The gear lever has been replaced with a rotary dial for the drive mode selector and the Tiago EV gets a sports mode as well.
Talking about the features, the Tiago EV gets 45 connected car tech, hill start and descent assist, TPMS, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, push-button start/stop and cruise control. The Tiago EV also gets a multi-mode region – first introduced with the Nexon EV Max – with four levels.
The Tigor EV also retains the look of its petrol variant. It gets a dark-toned interior with EV-themed color detailing which is done brilliantly with electric blue accents on the instrument panel, AC vents and seat fabric, where there is stitching and tri-arrow pattern.
In terms of features, the Tata Tigor EV gets a 7-inch touch screen boosted by Harman-Kardon stereo, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, 30+ connected features and a suite of connectivity packages.
It also gets a fully digital driver display.
Features include a USB port, automatic climate control, cooled glovebox, rear parking camera with adaptive directions and auto-foldable IRVM.
Tiago EV vs Tigor EV: Variants and Pricing
The Tata Tiago EV is available in four trims – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux and the Tigor EV on the other hand in four trims – XE, XM, XZ+ and XZ+ dual tone.

Tata Tiago EV price ranges between ₹8.49 Lakh to ₹11.79 Lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Tigor EV is priced between ₹12.49 Lakh and ₹13.64 Lakh (ex-showroom).
