TDP demands probe by sitting judge in TTD cases

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has demanded that the government order a probe by a sitting judge into the “dirty” developments witnessed in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam administration.

Addressing the media here on Sunday, the party’s Tirupati parliamentary constituency in-charge G. Narasimha Yadav objected to the temple administrators allegedly chanting the name of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inside the temple instead of Lord Venkateswara. While indirectly mentioning some such developments in the temple administration that it has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, Mr. Yadav said that the government has to give an explanation to the devotees.

He also found fault with a cabinet member for ‘abusing’ opposition leaders and raising political issues on the Tirumala hills, a practice abandoned by all parties for decades. He advised the Chief Minister to stop his ministers from crossing the ‘Lakshman Rekha’ of decency and courtesy. Mr. Narasimha Yadav said that attempts by the rulers to “misuse the police machinery to suppress the voice of dissent” would not be tolerated and indicated a revolt of the people across the state soon.
