Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Repalle MLA Anagani Satya Prasad has said that the Kapu community has faced more injustice than justice under the state government in the last three years.
In a statement on Sunday, Mr Satya Prasad said that while the previous government led by N Chandrababu Naidu provided food and livelihood for Kapus, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was snatching food from their mouths. Ever since Mr Jagan became the Chief Minister, he took a vindictive attitude towards Kapu in the state.
The previous government gave Rs. He said that every year Rs 1,500 crore for Videsh Vidya (foreign education) to Kapu students while Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy reduced the scholarship for Kapu students going abroad from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
The government had turned the Kapu Nigam into an ornamental entity without any money or power. The youth of Kapu were completely deprived of employment opportunities.
The Kapu Mahila Nestam program was implemented for only 2.5 lakh out of the total 40 lakh eligible beneficiaries. He said that the government is betraying them and showing all pension and amma vodi funds under normal programs in Kapu welfare benefits.
The previous government had provided accommodation in AP Bhawan, Delhi for Kapu students to prepare for competitive exams. The present government had also removed this program. The Kapu buildings were annexed by the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime, he alleged, adding, “Without any principle, the AP building was converted into a YSRCP building.”
