Tech Wrap: OnePlus sends legal notice to user whose Nord 2 explodes, Amazon event on September 28

Earlier this month, a OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone exploded in a lawyer’s pocket, prompting a user to launch a legal complaint against the Chinese smartphone maker. Now, OnePlus has issued a legal notice to a Delhi-based lawyer, seeking him to “stop and stop” from making or publishing “any such defamatory videos or defamatory statements” against OnePlus and its products. OnePlus also demanded that Gulati remove his earlier tweets and posts, the company told CNN News18. Giving information about the legal notice in a tweet, Gulati said, “This is the price I have to pay for being a whistleblower.”

Netflix on Monday began offering a free mobile plan with nearly one-quarter of its TV shows and movies in Kenya, a strategy aimed at spurring growth in a key African market, the company told Reuters. The free plan is available on Android mobile phones and will not contain ads. This includes Netflix movies and TV shows such as the dramas “Money Heist” and “Bridgeton” and the African series “Blood and Water”, as well as some programming company licensed from others. Netflix hopes the free plan will prompt users to sign up for a paid option with more content.
