Telangana CM KCR suspects ‘foreign hand’ behind cloudburst

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said he has some “sad” information, saying a suspected “foreign hand” could be behind the cloudbursts in many parts of the country.

“A new method called CloudBurst has arrived. He says that there are conspiracies around it. We don’t know to what extent this is true. Some foreign countries are deliberately bursting clouds in our country. Earlier, he had done this in Leh (Ladakh).” Rao,

The CM also warned of further rain, stating that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains till July 29.

“So, the threat is not over yet,” Rao said after reviewing the flood relief measures with the officials. He directed the officials not to send people back from the relief camps and said, “We have to take care of them.”

In addition, the CM announced the allotment 1,000 crore as a rehabilitation package after visiting the flood-hit Bhadrachalam town of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.

The funds for the temple city would be used to build colonies in the highlands as a permanent solution to flood hazards.

Rao also announced 10,000 immediate relief to each flood affected family and 20 kg rice free to each family for the next two months.

In this regard residential colonies will be constructed, an embankment covering the entire Sree Sitaramachandra Swamy temple at Bhadrachalam will be developed and the embankment towards Bargampadu will also be strengthened to prevent future floods.

Later, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of Eturu Nagaram area of ​​Mulugu district and also reviewed the flood relief measures there.

Telangana received heavy rains for nearly seven days till last Friday, flooding low-lying areas across the state and causing damage to agricultural crops and others.

Over 10 people died in various rain-related incidents at different places like wall collapse and electrocution last Wednesday.

Opposition’s reaction

Reacting to KCR’s comments on the cloudburst, Telangana BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar called it the “joke of the century”. Sanjay said that to hide his ‘failures’, KCR is doing drama.

The Telangana BJP chief further alleged that KCR was trying to divert people’s attention from the “sinking” of the Kaleshwaram project.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and party MP A Revanth Reddy demanded that if KCR has information about a “foreign hand” behind the cloudburst, he should also hand over the information to the Intelligence Bureau, RAW and the central government and This is the responsibility of the Chief Minister.
