Congress Telangana unit president and party MP A Revanth Reddy on Saturday filed a police complaint in Siddipet district seeking registration of a case over Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s alleged remarks demanding a new constitution in the country.

In the complaint lodged with the Gajwel police station, Revanth Reddy said the chief minister had made some controversial remarks during a press conference held at Pragati Bhavan on February 1, a Congress party release said here.

The TPCC chief said that KCR, (as Rao is also known) had blamed the present Constitution for not fulfilling the aspirations of the people in the last 75 years.

He said that KCR’s demand to repeal the present constitution and replace it with a new one is treason. Hence they demanded that a criminal case be registered against KCR under relevant sections.

When asked about the complaint by Revanth Reddy, a senior police officer said that he has “represented” and they are getting legal opinion on it and based on it they will proceed.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders have lodged formal complaints against KCR in almost all police stations of Telangana for his remarks.
