Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that terrorism is the biggest form of human rights violation and it is absolutely necessary to root it out to protect the rights of the people.

Addressing the 13th Raising Day of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi, Shri Shah said that the cases registered against terrorism financing in Jammu and Kashmir have helped to a great extent in curbing terrorism in the Union Territory.

He said, “I believe that there can be no more human rights violation than terrorism. Terrorism is the biggest form of human rights violation. To protect human rights, it is absolutely necessary to eliminate terrorism from its roots.”

The Home Minister said that the Narendra Modi government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and is working to eliminate this menace from India.

Shri Shah said that due to the registration of terrorism financing cases by the NIA in Jammu and Kashmir, it has become very difficult now to provide funds for terrorist activities there.

The Home Minister also lauded the NIA for taking strict action against overground workers of terrorist organizations in Jammu and Kashmir and shutting down the logistics and supply chain of terrorism there.
