Lucknow:

Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist for the murder of BJP leader Nupur Sharma.

Nupur Sharma was suspended as the spokesperson of the BJP after her comments about the Prophet triggered massive protests in India and a series of official complaints by Gulf countries.

The terrorist has been identified as Mohammad Nadeem, a resident of Kunda Kala village in Saharanpur, UP.

JeM (Jaish-e-Muhammad) and TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban) were in direct contact with the 25-year-old terrorist, informed the anti-terrorist squad of the UP Police.

UP ATS had received information that a person influenced by the ideology of Jaish and TTP is preparing for a fidayeen attack in Saharanpur.

Police said Mohammad Nadeem was set to go to Pakistan for arms training, revealing his phone records and messages.

A mobile phone was recovered from him, in which a PDF document titled “Explosive Course FIDE Force” was found, informed the ATS.

Additionally, Jaish and Tehreek-e-Taliban said that chats and voice messages with police have been recovered from Mohammad Nadeem’s phone.

Police said that he received training in creating virtual phone numbers from terrorist organizations. A Pakistani named Saifullah was training him to carry out “fidayeen” attacks on government buildings or police forces. The terrorist was asked to go to Pakistan for special training.

Police said the terrorist has also named his Indian accomplices in the case and the matter is being investigated.

Police said Mohammad Nadeem was in touch with terror groups through WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Club House and other social media platforms.
