About 60% of the Tesla V3 supercharging piles have a maximum power output of 250 kW, while the rest are V2 charging piles with a maximum charging power of 120 kW. Tesla’s network continues to grow in China — one of the company’s biggest markets. Tesla has been adding supercharging stations in the country since 2014.
Talking about the company’s charging network layout, Zhang Lina, head of Tesla ChinaK Super-Charging Network Development and Operations said that for the past eight years the main focus was on completing the construction of the charging network infrastructure. Now, the company plans to work on customizing the same layout.
In addition, Tesla says station densities will be optimized within the current framework, while existing stacks at certain specific stations will be upgraded to improve their charging efficiency.
