Kalyan: In a tragic incident, two children who went swimming with other friends in a water-filled mine in Dombivli drowned on Sunday afternoon. The other four children who were drowning also managed to get out holding each other.
The deceased have been identified as Ayush Gupta (14) and Ayush Kedare (12). Police said the deceased were residents of Jyotinagar complex located in Ayre Nagar area of Dombivali.
Police said the mine is deep and the children may not have guessed the depth of the water from the shore before jumping in for a swim. The survivors told the police that the two dead were trapped in the quarry of the mine and could not get out.
