Thane: The Anti Extortion Cell of Thane Crime Branch has arrested a constable from Thane city police for his involvement in running a fake call centre, which was busted at a mall in Kapurbawdi area earlier this year. The accused, Pramod Bhanudas Dhadve, is attached to the Modus Operandi Bureau (MOB) of Thane city police and is now in the custody of the Anti-Extortion Cell.
A senior police officer confirmed the incident and said that Dhadve played a key role in setting up the fake call centre, as he was one of the alleged partners of the other accused. A police officer said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that he provided equipment to other accused to run fake call centers and even invested some money in the entire setup.”
