Patil was on a tour of Murbad taluka along with his supporters on Monday afternoon.
As his convoy was moving from Bapsai village, he noticed an accident in the tempo.
The minister immediately stopped his car and rushed to help the injured.
Tempo driver Somnath Gawle was taken to the Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar.
Patil said, “The tempo driver was carrying the cylinder and he met with a road accident after the brakes failed.”
He has got some fracture in his leg.
