The cars we said goodbye to in 2021

Every year many new and updated car models come in the market. Naturally, some older models go out of style. Here are some cars we said goodbye to in 2021.

Carmakers have to retire the good, the bad and the mediocre range from their lineup every year. This does not mean that there is anything fundamentally wrong with these vehicles. Some cars may not get enough traction, while others have to bear the brunt of changes in the market.

The new economy crossovers and SUVs outdo these models. In some cases, auto brands are slashing the fat to make room for new competing models. Here is a list of six such cars that will not be returning to the roads in 2021!

Ford EcoSport

Unfortunately, the Ford EcoSport didn’t make the cut this year due to Ford’s exit from the Indian market. However, the car has performed well since its entry in 2012. We think it would be wrong to say that it was one of the best selling subcompact SUVs in India.

The Ford EcoSport had great dynamics and a powerful engine. But after nearly nine years on the market, it was time for the EcoSport to make room for others.

Toyota Yaris

Let’s talk about the sedans that will not return in 2021. Surprisingly, Toyota had to pull the plug on the Yaris. The Yaris was one of the most reliable four-wheelers with features that every car owner wants. But, it did not attract buyers. Well, with Honda City and Hyundai Verna dominating the sedan market, Yaris stood no chance.

Ford Endeavor

Don’t be surprised to see another Ford model on our list. With Ford exiting the Indian market, it had to focus on many of its popular models. One of them was the Ford Endeavor which had a huge fanbase of its own. Endeavor has managed to win the hearts of many with its strong body and strong looks. But, after a decade of doing so, it finally had to say goodbye.

Skoda Rapid

Next on our list is the Skoda Rapid. The Rapid Power-Pack was the best combination of performance and affordability. This sedan offered value for money to the Indian buyers.

The Rapid had all and anything that similarly priced models didn’t offer. The engine exceeded capacity and offered 110ps of maximum power.

Ford Figo

The Ford Figo was indeed the most powerful model in its segment. Eventually, the brand made sure the Ford Figo’s engine turned heads. The 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine can generate strong power. This hatchback has set the benchmark high for the current and upcoming models in this segment.
