Commonwealth Games medical adviser Dr Peter Harcourt has assured that around a dozen athletes are suspected to be infected with Kovid-19 daily in the Games Village but this is not too worrying.

More than 5000 athletes from 72 countries and territories will compete in the Games spread over 11 days, with the opening ceremony taking place on 28 July.
Addressing a media conference, he said, “Around a dozen are returning positive in a day, but 1200-1400 athletes go through the COVID-19 testing process daily. So it gives you an idea, it’s a huge number.” Not there.”
Hoping for the smooth conduct of the event, he said that the organizing committee has tried its best to create a safe environment.
