Surat: A tour and travel agent, who had also hired a car, filed a complaint with the Udhna police that one of his customers eloped with his car worth Rs 3 lakh with the help of another travel agent. on the basis of complaint lodged by Amar Patel (29), police have registered a case Sohil Thesia (client) and step Patil (another travel agent) for fraud.
According to Patel’s complaint, he runs a tour and travel business and rents out four of his cars to customers on a self-drive basis. On December 28 last year, Patil had called Patel and mentioned Thesia, who was looking for a self-drive car on rent.
Patel and Thesia agreed on a fare of Rs 2,500 per day for a three-day trip to Rajasthan. A few days after Thesia’s departure Rajasthan RajasthanPatel’s friend informed him on January 1 that his car was listed for sale on an online portal.
Patel immediately called Theseia and Patil, who assured them that they would get their car soon. But he did not return the car. Also, he stopped receiving calls from Patel.
After exhausting all options to get his car back, Patel filed a fraud complaint against Theseia and Patil at the Poona police station on Wednesday.
