Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh on Sunday asserted that the era of working in silos is over and stressed the need for integrated theme based projects instead of specialized ministry or department based projects.

In an exclusive media interview about his vision for the Ministry of Science and Technology, which he took over two months back, the minister informed that he has started holding regular joint meetings of all science ministries as well as departments and this He will also hold a joint meeting of science and technology ministers of all states and union territories before the end of the month. He said that this integrated approach would be further extended to include start-ups, industry and other stakeholders.

“The representatives of all the Science Ministries including Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, Atomic Energy, Space/ISRO, CSIR, Biotechnology etc. are separately engaged in extensive consultations with each of the various Ministries of the Government of India to find out What can be the scientific applications. In which field it is used ranging from agriculture, railway, road, water power etc. It is being kept in mind that today every field has become largely dependent on scientific technology. is,” he said.

Referring to some of India’s recent pioneering initiatives that have been universally appreciated, the Minister predicted that after the recent space sector reforms, the Indian private space industry is poised to contribute to the core elements of the global space economy. – Space-based services, launch services, manufacturing of launch vehicles and satellites, establishment of ground segments and launch infrastructure – to a large extent.

Dr Jitendra Singh said, “I can say with full confidence in my order that the quality of our scientific human resource is far better than most of the developed countries of the world.” Giving the example of space technology, he said, India is currently a leading nation and the fact that NASA also procures the data received by ISRO tells a lot about our scientific progress.
