Train services on the Howrah-Chennai route under East Coast Railway zone were affected after a goods train derailed in Odisha’s Khorda district on Wednesday, an official said.
An iron ore wagon of a goods train going from Nayagarh in Keonjhar district to Hubli in Karnataka derailed between Solari and Balugaon stations.
Consequently, the Bhubaneswar-Mumbai CSMT Konark Express was diverted to Gangadharpur station.
Similarly, Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express was controlled at Kalupadaghat station, the official said.
Later both the trains resumed their journey.
