Prayagraj: State Governor Anandiben Patel on Sunday called upon the university-affiliated elite, universities and colleges to adopt Anganwadi centers so that children visiting these Anganwadi centers can get all basic facilities. The Governor was addressing a gathering of Anganwadi workers, ASHA, village heads and others. Professor Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) A function organized in the University campus. He interacted with five pregnant women, including Anthima Sahu, Renu, Anthima Mishra, Rani Giri and Sarita, and performed baby shower rituals, apart from distributing toys, furniture and other kits among the children of 35 Anganwadi centres.
He said that poor children come to Anganwadi centers and it is our responsibility to give them better facilities at these centers and take proper care of the children. He also said that the Anganwadi workers should give proper diet to the children as they are the future of the country. With all the basic facilities available at Anganwadi centers, children will have better development both mentally and physically. He said that the people of the city should try to spend their time with these children at Anganwadi centers instead of celebrating their birthdays or partying at other places.
The Governor also asked the village heads to identify and adopt children suffering from malnutrition and tuberculosis of their respective villages, apart from the development of the villages. There was also a need to involve the affluent families of the villages in the noble cause. He also asked ASHA and other health workers to ensure that there are no home deliveries and that pregnant women are given proper care and nutrition. During this, Governor Anandiben Patel also inaugurated the newly constructed building of Professor Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University. He also unveiled the statue of Professor Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) and planted a sapling in the university campus.
