The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday, 22 August that there will be less rain in Northwest India in the next five days and similar conditions will prevail over Central India from 24 August.
IMD has also issued Red and Orange alert for East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat region for extremely heavy rainfall from August 22 to August 23.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that depression over northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Uttar Pradesh will move west-northwestwards across northwest Madhya Pradesh towards East Rajasthan and will weaken into a WML pressure area by tomorrow morning.

– Widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall and possibility of thunder/lightning over northern parts of Gujarat region on 22nd and 23rd; Rajasthan 23 August
– Widespread/light/moderate rain with possibility of lightning and thundershowers at isolated places over West Rajasthan on 22nd & 24th; East Madhya Pradesh 22nd and 26th; West Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa on the 23rd; Odisha on 23rd and 24th; Gujarat region on the 24th; Saurashtra and Kutch on 23rd; Chhattisgarh on 25 and 26 August
Very widespread/extremely light/moderate rainfall with scattered heavy rain and thunderstorms/lightning very likely Uttarakhand on 24 august
– Light/moderate rainfall with scattered heavy falls and thundershowers/lightning over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 22nd, 23rd & 25th; Arunachal Pradesh on 26th August
Widespread light/moderate rain with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning likely over Coastal Karnataka on 22nd and 23rd; South Interior Karnataka on 23rd and 24th; Kerala and Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during 22-26 August
– Scattered/moderate rain and thundershowers very likely over South Haryana, Delhi and Southwest Uttar Pradesh.
