The country’s latest entry in an established and competitive airline industry, Akasa airline commenced its commercial operations with its maiden flight on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. Presently, there are nine scheduled airlines operating in India, the largest being Air India, Indigo, SpiceJet, Air Asia India, GoFirst and Vistara.
