Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated two new Defense Office complexes of the Ministry of Defense, located at Africa Avenue and Kasturba Gandhi Marg in New Delhi, which were constructed at a cost of Rs 775 crore. More than 7000 employees of the ministry, who are currently in slums and old buildings around South Block and North Block, will soon move there.
The old huts are on 50 acres of land. The new campuses were built on just 13 acres.

Stating that the construction work involved provided employment to hundreds of labourers, Mr Modi said, “The work of Defense Office Complex which was supposed to be completed in 24 months but has been completed in a record time of only 12 months. Concentrating on his speech on the upcoming Central Vista, he said, “Today, when we are focusing on Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business, modern infrastructure plays an equally important role in this. From Central Vista This is the spirit at the core of the work being done today.”
“When the policy and intention is clear, the will is strong and the efforts are sincere, then nothing is impossible, everything is possible. The construction of the new Parliament building of the country will also be completed within the stipulated time frame.
