He said the contract of Antony Waste Handling Cell Pvt Ltd for waste management in the city would expire in January. However, the municipal corporation failed to accept a DPR for waste management submitted by Mangala Resource Management Pvt Ltd (MRMPL), a city-based start-up.
“In fact, two DPRs submitted by MCC (one by MRMPL and other by MCC) were discussed in the State Level Technical Committee (SLTC) meeting.
Later, SLTC directed MCC to submit a single DPR with salient features drawn from both the DPRs.
However, while submitting a single DPR, all 60 corporators were not informed,” Vinayaraj said and demanded the mayor to constitute a committee to study the DPRs submitted to the government.
The Mayor said that soon a meeting would be called to discuss the DPR.
Meanwhile the former mayor Shashidhar Hegde Demanded a white paper from Congress on the financial condition of the MCC, including revenue, expenditure and outstanding bills for payment.
Leader of Opposition in the Council Naveen D’Souza demanded that a title deed should be given for houses built for civic workers in Mahakalipadpu.
LED light project delay
Vinayraj of the Municipal Corporation questioned the officials for not taking the initiative to complete the ambitious project of converting traditional street lights to LED lamps in the city.
Officials said the extension of time (EOT) for completion of the project was issued recently and the installation work will be completed by November 30.
