Vedamurthy said, “People who have to keep their homes locked for several days can take a picture of their locked house and send the photo to our WhatsApp group, like the name of the owners, address, police station limits and so on. Other details,” said Vedamurthy.
“We will send the details to the local police station and instruct the staff to supervise these closed houses. The police personnel of the concerned Thana limits will visit such houses 5-6 times a day and keep a watch till the owners return,” said Vedamurthy.
“In the last six months around 20 families have informed us and we have ensured the safety of their homes. Many people are not coming forward to take advantage of this facility. We are creating awareness about this service,” the SP said.
