Bhubaneswar: South West monsoon will start withdrawing from Orissa In the next four to five days, IMD forecast said on Thursday. It said that most parts of the state are likely to experience thunderstorms in the next few days.
IMD sources said the state has received 66 per cent excess rainfall in October, while it has been normal from June to September.
The seasonal cumulative rainfall in the state between October 1 and 13 is 108.2 mm as against the normal 65.1 mm. except Malkangiri While post-monsoon rains have been recorded in October at 49%, all other districts have received above normal rainfall during this period.
According to the midday bulletin, the Southwest Monsoon has become active over Odisha, bringing light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places.
The IMD said that after October 15, the rain activities in the state will reduce. The withdrawal process is starting from October 10 but this time it is getting delayed.
