WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has defended himself

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has become a topic of discussion on social media after a video went viral in which he can be seen slapping a young wrestler. However, a day later, Singh explained why he lost his cool and revealed that the youngster had been found guilty of committing age fraud at the Under-15 Wrestling Championships. The young player was then disqualified from the tournament.

“This guy came on stage and urged him to take part in the championship after being found guilty of age fraud. I didn’t allow him and politely asked him to go down the stage as we already disqualified 5 more wrestlers Was found guilty of committing age fraud and they all belong to UP, not only from UP, I didn’t allow player of any age, whether it is from Delhi, Haryana or any state, if I depending on the states If I start doing this, I cannot develop wrestling in the country,” Singh told ANI.

Singh also said that the young boy took his disqualification over his arrogance and jumped on stage and urged the President to allow him to participate. The WFI President said that he lost his cool as the boy would not listen to what he was being told over and over again.
