The work of Secunderabad Railway Station is being done in phases

Work has started for temporary booking office and RPF office as part of the upgradation works of Secunderabad station.

The South Central Railway (SCR) has said that the work to build a temporary booking office and one for Railway Protection Force (RPF) has started. The ₹700-crore Secunderabad station upgradation work is underway with soil testing and topography being completed on Tuesday.

The temporary office block is vital to the construction of the main building area without disrupting passenger services, while plans for the new North Terminal, South Terminal, multi-level car parking, two-level sky concourse and foot over bridge are being finalised. Is. informed a press release.

The station is being upgraded to meet the needs of passengers for the next 40 years. The site has been finalized for construction of new underground and overhead tanks with a combined capacity of 16 lakh litres. Survey for existing underground utilities has also been completed.

The works are being carried out in a phased manner so that there is no hindrance to existing train services or passenger convenience. General Manager Arun Kumar Jain said the upgradation work is being monitored at every stage so that there is no delay in the execution of the overall project, which is targeted to be completed by October 2025.
