The world’s first solar powered vehicle for the masses! Sion to enter production in 2023 – Times of India

based in munich sono motors Unveiled a solar-powered car for the general public, known as the Sion, in the international market on Monday. The brand has confirmed that the Cyan Solar car will enter the production phase in 2023.
In terms of the exterior, the solar powered car, the Sion gets sleek-looking headlamps, 3D lines and a charging lid. The rear profile is flanked by sleek tail-lamps, a rear wiper.

The Cyan will be offered in different interior colours, and will come equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display, the company says. Cion’s outer shell consists of 456 integrated solar quasi-cells that extend an average of 112 km (up to 245 km) per week.
Powered by the solar power, the Sion’s 54 kWh LFP battery and 120 kW motor offer an overall claimed range of 305 km. The battery will allow for a maximum charging capacity of up to 75 kW using a DC charger and 11 kW with an AC charger. According to the claims of Sono Motors, the top speed of the car will be 140 km/h.

It takes about 35 minutes for the battery to rapidly charge up to 80% charging station, The car can be charged at home or via other electric cars with an output of 11 kW.
As of 1 July, Sono Motors has received 19,000 reservations for the Sion, with an average down-payment of €2,225 and equivalent net sales volume of approximately €415 million. The manufacturer will start production of the Sion at its manufacturing facility in Finland in the second half of 2023.
Sono Motors aims to produce around 2,57,000 Sion vehicles within seven years at a cost of 29,900 euros.
