Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s mantra on jobs

Underlining the need to imbibe the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi in one’s life, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today said the freedom fighter’s mantra on job creation makes it more relevant in the 21st century.
“We do not need mass production, but we need production by the masses,” he said, quoting Mahatma Gandhi.
Bommai, after paying tribute to the late Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister, said, “He wanted jobs for all, which is very relevant in the 21st century. It is my firm belief that if we follow his philosophy, we will have Have a great future.” Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The Chief Minister said that Mahatma Gandhi brought freedom to India with the weapon of truth and non-violence, which the world knows and respects for it.
On Gandhiji’s vision of village development, the Chief Minister said that India needs to realize Gandhi’s dream of ‘Gram Rajya, Ram Rajya’.
Noting that Mahatma Gandhi’s simple and immaculate personal and public life is the guiding force of India, Bommai said that Gandhi’s idea of nationalism was humane, which needs to be strengthened across the country.
He said that Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri had many similarities, as the former believed in truth while the latter followed it.
Remembering Lal Bahadur Shastri, Shri Bommai said that he was the epitome of simple living, who set high standards of public living.
Lal Bahadur Shastri’s resignation after a train accident shows us his sensitivity to an accident, he said, adding that in the face of the war and the resulting food crisis, his slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ is unforgettable.
Recalling the association of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri with Karnataka, Mr. Bommai said, “We need to celebrate the birthdays of these two great humanists in a meaningful way. Not only the celebration but we should also imbibe their teachings in our lives. need to take an oath to do so.”
Heartfelt tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in different parts of Karnataka.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot also paid tribute to Gandhi by garlanding the statue of him in the lawns of Raj Bhavan.
The state Congress unit had organized a special program to pay respects to both the great personalities.
JD(S) party leaders also paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
