Rejecting any major threat from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), newly-elected Himachal Pradesh Congress president Pratibha Singh on Wednesday said there will be a direct contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in the year-end elections.

Pratibha Singh, 63, wife of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, was elected as the new state unit chief Congress President Sonia Gandhi just eight months before the assembly elections in the state.

In an exclusive interview with News18.com after taking charge, Singh dismissed the AAP’s growing challenge.
