The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) of the IT Ministry has issued a warning to Google Chrome users. The warning is for users who are using Google Chrome version earlier than 99.0.4844.74. CERT-In warned that a number of vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome, “that could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, bypass security restrictions, or perform a denial of service status on a target system.” “.
Providing information about how security threats exist Google ChromeCyber Community said this is due to “free-to-use in Blink Layout, Extension, Safe Browsing, Splitscreen, Angle, New Tab Page, Heap Buffer Overflow in Browser UI and GPU”.
CERT-In said exploiting these vulnerabilities could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, bypass security restrictions, or achieve a denial of service status on a target system.
Providing solutions to prevent any cyber attacks, the nodal agency of the Center recommended users to upgrade to Google Chrome version 99.0.4844.74.
Recently, CERT-In also reported that a number of vulnerabilities have been reported in the Microsoft Edge browser that could allow a remote attacker to compromise a targeted system. An attacker can exploit vulnerabilities by sending a specially crafted request.
