We have an inseparable relationship with all kinds of barifs. On any occasion, we’re ready to run to our favorite confectioners to get these at the drop of a hat. The luscious texture, heavenly taste and mouth-watering aroma of these barfis truly hold the most special place in our hearts. But when you’re feeling particularly low, what’s a sweet taste you can count on, no matter what? Many might respond with the classic kaju ki barfi or the more decadent besan or even moong dal burfi, however, this Delhi eatery may have the sweetest taste ever! What is it you ask? This is a barfi, made by none other than Horlicks! Yes, you read that right, made out of a jar full of Horlicks, this rich and delicious barfi looks tempting in every way and we can’t wait to dig in!

The video shared by @oye.foodie shows a sweet shop in Delhi’s Maujpur named ‘Shagun Mithai’. The sweet shop is known for its awesome Horlicks Barfi and as per the comments, it seems to be a hit among all! The video has garnered over 249k views, 15.6k likes and 60+ comments; The admin of the food page also praised it. He captioned the video as ‘Never tried Horlicks Barfi, it was really amazing’

The process of making Horlicks barfi is very similar to any other barfi. In sugar syrup, gram flour, condensed milk, horlicks powder and a lot of ghee are mixed and cooked in sugar syrup. After mixing well on high heat, the color of the batter changes to a beautiful golden color, then it is taken off the heat and spread on a large tray. Once cooled, the barfi is cut into bite-sized pieces and served, check out the delicious delicacy here:

Looks like we weren’t just overly impressed with Horlicks Barfi, the comment section was full of praise and everyone loved the combination. One of the most common comments was ‘oh wow’ (oh wow). While one pointed out that similar delicacy is found in other parts of the country as well, ‘its yum, we get it in Mangalore too’.
