The fishermen of a particular area in Maharashtra are commonly called “Koliwada”. The cuisines of Koliwada are cooked using a variety of pungent and spicy components and make for wonderful dishes. The food is generally crisp and delicious. Since Koliwada is a fishermen’s area, most of the cuisine is seafood. But, apart from those delicacies, this community is also famous for its delicious Koliwada Chicken. This is a quick and easy recipe made using a handful of spices and herbs. In a bowl add gram flour, red chilli powder, cumin powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, curd and water and mix. Mix everything well. The chicken slices should be marinated in a separate bowl with red chili powder, salt, cumin powder and lemon juice. Dip the chicken in the batter and fry till crispy. Once finished, remove the pieces and top with chopped coriander leaves and chaat masala. Serve with onion rings and chutney.
