Now his boss Elon Musk has also reacted to his concern. He tweeted, “Trust no one, nothing”. Rejecting the claims, WhatsApp has said, “Users have full control over their mic settings, Google checks and fixes.” It added, “Once given permission, WhatsApp uses the mic only when a user makes a call or records a voice note or video and even then, these communications are protected by end-to-end secure, so WhatsApp can’t hear them.”

However, several users have claimed to have faced similar issues in the comments section. WhatsApp has become the most popular instant messaging app that uses end-to-end, at least to save someone else from going. In addition, WhatsApp has faced some privacy issues in the past, such as: Sharing some user data with its parent Meta company such as your phone number, device information, location, and contacts. Gestures and Telegram claim to provide more privacy.
