According to the police, the accused have been identified as Asif (34). Khalid (23) and Javed (36). Meanwhile, Javed’s brother-in-law Shahzad is absconding.
SP (Rural) Iraj Raja said that the police had received information that a gang was duping people by making fake Aadhaar and labor cards. “We raided the shop and arrested the accused,” he said.
A senior police officer said that the accused took Rs 1,500 for making fake Aadhaar cards while Rs 1,500 to 2,000 for fake labor cards.
“During interrogation, the accused told the police that Shahzad had a real ID to generate the Aadhar card and had given that ID to Javed. Shahzad also gave Javed his retina high resolution screen technology to open the portal.
The seized kit includes a laptop, a fingerprint scanner, an eye scanner, five rubber stamps, some filled-in forms of Aadhaar and a labor card. Aadhar card application was installed in the laptop. The police have also recovered Rs 19,500 from them.
A case was registered against the arrested accused under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery to deceive) and 471 (using forged document as original) of the IPC. He was produced before a magistrate and sent to judicial custody.
