Three people have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a man.
According to the police, Mettur resident K. Kannan (26) had a relationship with a woman from the same area. The woman’s husband R. Karthik (41) and his associates R. Jagdish alias Jagadeesan (31), Kullaveeranpatti’s R. Balaji (33) and Mettur K R. Bhaskaran (33) had killed Kannan on 24 March 2018.
Mettur police have registered a case and arrested all the four accused. The matter was heard in the Additional Sessions Court at Mettur and one of the accused Bhaskaran died during the hearing.
On Thursday, the court found the remaining three accused, Karthik, Jagdish and Balaji guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
