Three people were killed in a collision between a government bus and a car near Vellakoil on Sunday.
Sources said the accident occurred near Vellakoil in Vellamadai when a government bus going from Coimbatore to Kumbakonam collided with a Tiruppur-bound car. M Lokeshwaran and M Parimala, who were traveling in the car, died on the spot and M Devi died on the way to the hospital.
The three injured were taken to a private hospital in Coimbatore. Vellacoil police sent the bodies to the government hospital in Kangeyam for postmortem. The police have registered a case and further action is being taken.
