In Mardanpur village of Kanpur, three unidentified miscreants barged into a house and robbed a couple at gunpoint and with a sword. Thieves stole gold jewelery and Rs 45,000 cash from the house.
On Monday night, thieves entered the house of a grocery trader named Amit Sahu. Due to construction work on the first floor, Amit, his wife Lalita and their son were sleeping on the ground floor.

Thieves entered from the terrace at around 1.30 pm and woke up the family members. They held the family at gunpoint and with swords and stole Lalita’s mangalsutra, earrings and other jewellery.
The thieves stole Rs 45,000 in cash and locked the victims inside the house before leaving. In the morning when the family did not give any answer to the milkman, he informed Amit’s brother, who came and opened the lock of the family.

After the complaint was registered, the police along with the forensic team and dog squad reached the spot to start the investigation. Investigation is on and detailed information is awaited.
