Tiivra launches composite fiber helmets for Rs 15,000: Why they cost so much – Times of India

Mumbai based startup Tiivra recently launched its range of Composite Fiber helmet 15,000 including taxes at a price point of Rs. These Made-in-India helmets weigh just 1,250 grams, making them one of the lightest helmets in the world, states Tiivra.
These helmets can be ordered through the official website or through select rider-owned stores. There are six types of helmets – Xerods, Saber, Razztaz, T1, Buzzy and Demon. The company makes two sizes per helmet, called Race Fit and Street Fit, with an additional smoked visor.
The start-up claims that all the helmets are made of glass and carbon fiber, offering higher protection than their thermoplastic counterparts. The company says these helmets have high visibility on the road or highway and feature a spoiler with Starblaze and a gold coating by Nippon Paints.

Tiivra aims to take a shot at the $8 billion motorcycle helmet industry and plans to offer helmets made from Kelvar fiber and carbon fiber that will be priced competitively, the official statement said.
Tiivra is founded by alpana parida which aims to build an ecosystem around bikers – across categories, services and technology platforms.
