Timeline major focus in investigation into Travis Scott concert deaths

HOUSTON: Houston Police Chief Troy Finer said Wednesday that determining the exact timeline of events at Friday night’s concert, where eight people were crushed to death, was an initial focus of the city’s criminal investigation. Is.

Eight people died during a performance by local hip-hop artist Travis Scott Friday night at the Astroworld Festival in Houston’s NRG Park.

Finer said during a news conference on Wednesday that the timeline of events being developed by investigators had departed from what was initially understood when the investigation began on Saturday. He declined to say how the timeline has changed.

“I’m not going to discuss the timeline because I don’t have all the facts,” Finer said.

Finer also said that he now accepted the original information, which put the number of private security personnel at the concert at 755.

“Some of the records presented to us just weren’t good records”, he said.

Finer said no one in the crowd had administered the drug to a private security guard, as was reported earlier on Saturday.

Finer promised a comprehensive investigation, while local officials were calling for an independent investigation as the police department deployed 500 officers to the concert.

“When I say we are looking at all aspects I mean it.” Finer said. “We really mean it. We give it to (the victims).”

Finer said that Houston police officers at NRG Park on Friday night told officials from Live Nation, the producers of the festival, that while cardiopulmonary resuscitation was being performed on the two individuals in the audience, the concert needed to end quickly.

At least 50 lawsuits have been filed against Live Nation and Scott over deaths and injuries related to Friday’s concert. Two people are hospitalized in critical condition.
