Tinder to roll out new ‘Relationship Goals’ feature; Will help convey the right intent to Gen-Z or Millennials

new Delhi: Popular dating app Tinder has rolled out a new update called ‘Relationship Goals’ which will specifically allow Gen-Z and Millennials to express what they are really looking for in a relationship. The new update will help users to tell exact intentions to others whether you want to make friends or looking for fling, or anything else.

The new feature has rolled out globally for members in multiple countries from Friday and will be available to all members by January 5, 2023, the company said.

Tinder users need to go to the profile section to use the new feature and choose from six intent options – Long-Term Partner, Long-Term Open to Short, Short-Term, Open to Long, Short-Term Fun, New Friends, or still figuring it out.

As users are on the app, they will be able to see which potential matches have been selected on their profiles and make better connections for all the right reasons

“Young singles, who make up the majority of Tinder, are becoming increasingly more intentional about who they spend their time with. In fact, 72 percent of Tinder members said they are looking for someone who knows what they want,” Kyle Miller, vice president of core product at Tinder, said in a statement.

“Relationship goals give members more control over their interactions and allow them to match more intently, without losing any connections they may not have made elsewhere,” he said.

Tinder’s 2022 year in swipe showed that singles are looking for loyalty, open-mindedness and respect in a match, and are embracing casual — yet clearly defined — situations as default relationship statuses.
