A senior TMC leader said Mr Banerjee, who frequently tweets on various issues, would also use Ku extensively in the coming days and party members and supporters would be asked to install it on their mobile phones.

The Lok Sabha MP from Diamond Harbor is one of the key figures in the TMC who popularized Twitter among the Mamata Banerjee-led party and its various wing office-bearers.

The TMC and its Tripura unit already have ku’s and Abhishek Banerjee is following them.

His first post on Ku was on the use of a purported image of the Kolkata flyover by the Uttar Pradesh government in a full-page advertisement showcasing the state’s transformation under its chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

“Changing UP for @myogiadityanath means stealing images from infrastructure seen in Bengal under Mamata Banerjee and using them as yours! Looks like ‘double engine model’ is bad in BJP’s strongest state Kind of failed and is now exposed for all!”, his post read.

Mr Banerjee also attached the advertisement to the post.
