TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s rally in Tripura fails to get permit for two consecutive days

In a recent development of the ongoing tussle between TMC and BJP, the state administration of Tripura has refused to allow TMC’s rally on September 15.

The reason given in the letter of the police was that there is a rally of another political party also on that day, so they are not allowing the second rally due to fear of confrontation. TMC immediately changed its plan and rescheduled its rally for 16 September.

Permission was sought for 16 September. Within hours of that, the police refused permission even on 16 September. This time he said that 17 is Vishwakarma Puja, so permission cannot be given.

TMC said that they are going to take up the matter. Abhishek Banerjee himself wrote while tweeting

BJP is scared to death and @BjpBiplab is using all its might and resources to stop me from entering Tripura. Keep trying but you can’t stop me. Your fear of @AITCofficial shows that your days in governance are numbered. Truth be told, we loved this scare!

According to sources, Abhishek Banerjee is firm on his decision to hold a rally in Tripura. Sushmita Dev has been camping in Tripura for more than 10 days and this was the first major event organized by TMC.

Tripura’s Subal Bhowmik TMC leader says, “They have instructed police to harass us, how can they deny permission for two consecutive days. Democracy is not Tripura, needs change.”

Meanwhile, the BJP has insisted that they have no intention of stopping the TMC.

For the last two months, the tussle between BJP and TMC has become a daily affair. TMC plans to deny permission everywhere in other states as well. Since the permission for Khela Hobe Day was also denied in UP and Gujarat, they are planning a nationwide launch of it.

There is still time in 2023 but the battle between BJP and TMC has raised the political temperature of Tripura.
