Congress veteran P Chidambaram on Sunday said the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) proposal for a pre-poll alliance for next month’s Goa Assembly polls was not considered by his party as the Mamata Banerjee-led party has slammed Congress leaders in the state. “troubled”. He alleged that the TMC hunted down Congress leaders in the coastal state. “They hunted Luizinho Faleiro, and even after the coalition was proposed, they hunted Alexo Reginaldo Lourenco, whose name was on the first list of congressional candidates. Shiv Sena and NCP have joined hands to contest the elections to the 40-member Goa Assembly, while the Congress will contest with the Goa Forward Party (GFP). Responding to another question, Chidambaram said the Congress candidates in Goa would give their suggestions on whether to announce the chief ministerial candidate in the state. “After the nomination process is over, we will take the views of the candidates and then inform the AICC (All India Congress Committee),” he said.
