TN CM launches Kalluri Kanavu career guidance for school students – Times of India

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday launched ‘Kalluri Kanavu’, a career guidance initiative for school students to pursue their higher education after completing class 12th. Novel Kalluri Kanavu (College Dreams) initiative, launched by Main under Naan Mudhalvan programme. The ministers provide guidance to the students to choose courses and choose colleges, entrance exams, education loans and scholarships.

More than 5,000 students from government and aided schools participated in the event held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium here.

The day-long program to be held in districts from June 29 to July 2 will have various sessions on motivation, engineering, medicine, allied sciences and life sciences, arts and sciences, commerce and accounts, law, veterinary. Agriculture, Fisheries, Government Jobs, Bank Loans, Help and Scholarships. Each session will last 45 minutes and speakers have been arranged by an event management team.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister claimed that no other state in the country has the same education policy as Tamil Nadu. He said, “The Naan Mudhalvan program is a plan to further refine it and make Tamil Nadu the best in education. Kalluri Kanavu is being organized accordingly.”

Stalin called upon the students and their parents to be wise in choosing courses and not to be confined to engineering and medicine only. He advised, “Opportunities are abundant in all fields. Tamil Nadu ranks 30 among the top 100 colleges in India. So, the chances of success are high if you study and progress.”

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated the CMC’s Rs 1,200-crore campus at Kannigapuram (Ranipet district), located about 12 km from Vellore on the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway.
