Automotive insights and analytics provider JATO Dynamics India has released the list of top 10 cars sold in the country during December 2021. Last month’s top 10 list had only three carmakers – Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Hyundai Motor India. However, the Indo-Japanese carmaker dominated the pack with eight models, while the other two carmakers had a single model in the list. The list includes models like WagonR, Swift, Baleno, Ertiga, Alto, DZire, Vitara-Brezza and Eeco. Interestingly, the Tata Nexon subcompact SUV is the new entrant in the top 5 list which has ousted Hyundai models like Creta and Venue in December 2021. As for Hyundai, the Venue subcompact SUV is the only model that managed to enter the list. Among the top 10 cars sold in the country in December 2021.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR was the best-selling car last month with 19,728 units sold at 16,853 units as of November 2021. Maruti Suzuki Swift has maintained the second position with 15,661 units sold last month as against 14,568 units sold in November 2021. Baleno, which was ranked sixth in November 2021, moved up to the third position with 14,458 units. Tata Nexon secured the fourth position in the country last month with sales of 12,899 units. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga climbed five steps to reach the fifth position at 11,840 units.

Maruti Suzuki Alto, which was at the third position in November 2021 at 13,812 units, dropped to the sixth position with the company selling 11,170 units in December. This time around, Maruti Suzuki DZire also managed to crack the top 10 list, jumping four places to reach the seventh position with 10,663 units. However, Hyundai Venue managed to grab the eighth position with 10,360 units as compared to a month ago, when it was not even in the top 10 list. Maruti Suzuki Eeco van dropped two places to the tenth position with 9,165 units.
