Top 5 Changes & New Features in the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic – Times of India

Mahindra And Mahindra recently launched the much awaited Mahindra Scorpio N. The bookings for the new Scorpio N crossed the 1 lakh mark in just 30 minutes, setting a record for Mahindra in the Indian automotive industry.
After the launch of the Scorpio N, the company also announced that the previous generation Scorpio will not be discontinued and will remain on sale. Scorpio Classic, The company recently announced that the highest incremental bookings for the month across all cars was for the Scorpio Classic.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic: New logo, new 17-inch alloys and more
The new Scorpio Classic is almost identical to the old generation except for a few changes in the front bumper. The Classic gets a new grille with chrome and similar treatment to the fog lamp housing. The SUV gets redesigned headlamps and LED DRLs.

New Mahindra Scorpio Classic Gets a new Mahindra logo. The logo was first introduced with the XUV700 and then the Scorpio-N and now Mahindra is adding the Scorpio Classic to the list.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic also gets newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels. The alloy wheels are the only changes made to the side. The SUV also gets functional roof rails that give it a rough and tough look.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic: Dual Tone Interior and Android Infotainment
The cabin layout of the new Scorpio Classic is identical to the previous generation except for the new dual-tone theme. The SUV also gets a new 9-inch Android infotainment system with 16GB of internal memory instead of the 7-inch touchscreen.
Another change in the interior is the steering wheel with the new logo. Other features include automatic climate control, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors with cameras, etc.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic: New Engine?
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic is powered by the new-gen 2.2L mHawk turbocharged diesel which has an all aluminum construction and is 55kg lighter than the previous engine. The engine also makes use of electronic actuators and Mahindra claims that the new engine is more responsive and the NVH levels have come down significantly.
Coming to the power figures, the SUV produces 130 Bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The 6-speed manual transmission has also been revised, and the Scorpio Classic gets a cable operated gearbox, as a result, the new Scorpio Classic has smoother shift operation and less throw.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic: Tweaked suspension and new alloy wheels
Mahindra has also got a re-tuned suspension. Scorpio Classic gets Multi Tuning Valve Concentric Land Dampers. It is also called FSD. Due to this the SUV feels more confident around corners and feels very stable. The SUV also gets newly designed dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic is offered with only two variants – S and S11. The S is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh and the S11 is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh.
